Fully customizable around your dates, pace and budget.
ABOUT
Mount Kilimanjaro is Tanzania's most recognizable natural landmark and the highest mountain in Africa, rising to 5,895 metres above sea level. The mountain stands dramatically above the surrounding plains and is one of the world's most remarkable free-standing volcanic formations. Kilimanjaro consists of three major volcanic formations: Kibo, Mawenzi and Shira. Kibo contains Uhuru Peak, the highest point on the African continent. The mountain's slopes pass through several distinct ecological zones, creating dramatic changes in vegetation and climate as climbers gain altitude. Kilimanjaro offers several climbing routes, each with different scenery, difficulty, duration and acclimatization characteristics. Reaching the summit requires physical preparation, appropriate equipment and careful attention to altitude. For many travelers, climbing Kilimanjaro is a multi-day journey through several ecosystems culminating at Uhuru Peak, the Roof of Africa.
